The Van Buren County Conservation Board

consists of

and 2 part time employees.

Van Buren County Conservation Board, where we strive to make our county a great place to be.

With several parks, camp grounds, wildlife preserves, and great fishing, you are sure to stick around for a while.

We take great pride and joy in what we do and hope you enjoy every bit of Van Buren County.

History & Purpose
The Van Buren County Conservation Board was authorized by the people of Van Buren County at the primary election of 1966:

  • To acquire, develop, maintain and make available to the inhabitants of the county, public museums, parks, preserves, parkways, playgrounds, recreation centers, county forests, wildlife and other conservation areas.
  • To promote and preserve the health and general welfare of the people & resources
  • To cultivate good citizenship by providing adequate programs of public recreation.

Since its inception, the VBCCB has acquired, developed and maintained 13 areas

comprising of over 500 acres of land for the public's benefit and enjoyment.
